This installation was created in response to a call out to artists and architects, for entries on the theme of 'un-used' spaces, for an exhibition entitled 'Threshold', curated by Cara Courage, as part of the 'Love Architecture' festival 2012, in the My Hotel underground car park, Brighton.
The architects exhibiting had inspiring ideas concerning community-led regeneration, so I decided to respond to their themes, by visiting some of the disused spaces they had identified in their interactive map exhibit, to document my response to these spaces.
I visited different derelict and sparse locations; recording through drawing my sense of the atmosphere in the space, questions about it's use, who frequented these areas, and what they may become when re-generated. Research interests included place-making, psychogeography, and the 'gentrification' of communities.
